Together We Contribute towards Carbon Neutrality
By joining KMB Carbonisation Partnership, Tong Seng Company Ltd. and Bridgestone Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. sponsored the solar power system that is installed in KMB’s 3rd generation solar-device double-deck buses. This contributes towards Hong Kong’s goal of carbon neutrality.
KMB Carbonisation Partnership program involves 89 in-operation double-deck buses. Each bus will be installed with 14 pieces of 2mm ultra-thin solar panels on the rooftop. The power generated by those solar panel will be used to drive the ventilation and air conditioning system of the bus. This is to keep the temperature of the buses compartment at a comfortable level when the engine is shut off. Each double-deck bus can save daily petrol consumption by 5-8% (about 7 litres).
We sincerely thanks all the companies that have taken part in the program to reduce the carbon emission in Hong Kong. We will continue to take part in similar activities contributing towards a sustainable society.
