Bridgestone World Solar Car Challenge 2025 (August 24-29, 2025). Sponsored by Tong Seng Company Limited, the Vocational Training Council (VTC) Solar Car Team, raced in the “Cruiser Class” on the Australian circuit, claimed the first place and adding another outstanding achievement for Hong Kong on the international stage.
The latest generation SOPHIE 8x, independently developed by the VTC Solar Car Team, returned to official competition this year, traveling from Darwin, Australia’s northernmost city, to the southern city of Adelaide. Despite rain delays, the solar car SOPHIE 8x pressed onward, traversing states and provinces with unwavering determination. It crossed the finish line in first place, maintaining a 4-minute lead over the second-place team from Estonia.
